What's In My Suitcase: Italy Edition
A Storied Closet
by Katie Kime
Tomorrow I leave for Italy. A country that stole my heart while backpacking at 18, that I then returned to for study abroad in college, and then visited every year after marrying my husband…until Covid. This is my first time back since before the pandemic and while it’s fast and furious, filled exclusively with photoshoots and work engagements, I still feel giddy to be back in a place that I love so much it kind of hurts.
For KK daily content, we’ll be paying homage to some of Italy’s greatest fashion houses, including Valentino, as well as Dolce and Gabana.
The real reason for the trip (aside from joining JJ Martin and La Double J at Salone del Mobile, which I’m thrilled for by the way) is to shoot our long-awaited expansion into ready-to-wear. We dabbled in this category a while back, but before we had the team or knew how to really execute the category the way I’d envisioned. While this first collection will be small - more shirting options, midi and maxi shirt dresses - it’s truly just the beginning.
