Katie on La Vie Style House

The fashion love child of fellow Texans Lindsey Mcclain and Jamie Coulter, I first discovered La Vie Style House when they were sold exclusively in the beloved Barney’s... R.I.P. It didn’t take long for their genius take on a one-size, vintage-inspired caftan in an array of colors, textures, and lengths to find a cult following.

I have a few (and I had more—one I re-homed to a friend and another I left hanging in a hotel closet, and it still hurts me), and my favorite thing is not only feeling chic and comfortable at the same time but even more so, a versatility I’m not sure I’ve ever found in a garment. I’ve worn them over a bathing suit and to the opening of our Fort Worth pop-up, to my baby shower at seven months pregnant, and to a fundraiser. I’ve paired them with everything from mules to Miron Crosby custom boots, and somehow it all feels right.

They have new locations popping up around the country and a new summer select is calling my name.
