Behind the Design: Hamptons Toile

Behind the Design: Hamptons Toile

Creative Living

by Jen Pinkston

If you’ve been a friend of the brand for awhile now, you already know that there is a story and meaning behind nearly all of our prints. Our Toile Collection is no exception. I love our city toile collection because of what it means to our community and how it allows people to tell their story through the places that they love and the memories they made there.

We spend so much time choosing the place, doing our own research, and then partnering with local residents before we ever embark on the toile design process in a new city. For our Hamptons Toile, each element featured was handpicked by Amy Griffin of G9 Ventures and Jessica Latham of Social Studies Party. Their creative perspective and love of the Hamptons is conveyed through the details of this city toile.

Feel the breeze, smell the saltwater, and taste the lobster rolls with our Hamptons Toile, now available in a new colorway for Summer 2024.

ABOUT THE ICONS:

LUNCH LOBSTER ROLL

This maritime delicacy is the culinary symbol of summer. Whether you’re choosing a cold classic lobster roll or its warm buttery brother, this Southampton staple is perfect for a quick bite to eat.

MONTAUK POINT LIGHTHOUSE

Commissioned by President George Washington in 1792, this historic lighthouse stands tall and picturesque on the easternmost point of Long Island, known as "The End of the World."

EAST HAMPTON GARDINER MILL

This Dutch-style mill is one of 11 surviving 18th- and early-19th-century windmills on Long Island. Its unique architectural features represent some of the best and oldest examples of American craftsmanship.

THE SURF LODGE

The Surf Lodge is the ultimate beach bungalow. Known for its delectable seafood tower and lobster roll, it’s one of the most exclusive places to see and be seen.

SAG HARBOR CINEMA

Sag Harbor’s small town charm and history dating back to the early 1700s make it the place to "summer," and its cinema is the perfect spot to catch a flick.

PARRISH ART MUSEUM

Designed by Herzog & de Meuron Architects, this museum focuses extensively on work by artists from the artist colony of the South Shore and North Shore. It is home to over 3,500 works, from nineteenth-century head-turning sculptures to contemporary paintings.

MAIDSTONE CLUB

Founded in 1894, Maidstone Club is a summer retreat for some of New York City's most socially connected families. The club is complete with two golf courses, 19 grass tennis courts, four Har-Tru clay courts, and countless other amenities that make it the most iconic club in the Hamptons.
